The Stop the Noise campaign has pushed the Metropolitan Police into firmer action against large groups of motorcycles and cars around Waterloo and South Bank.
There have been targeted operations, more evening patrols, CCTV, and a police bus near the London Eye and County Hall. Motorcycles have been seized. Some residents say nights are quieter and they are sleeping better.
That is progress, not a finish. People should be able to sleep on ordinary nights, not only when a special operation is on. I am still asking for lasting enforcement, signage and traffic measures from the council, the police and the other authorities involved.
