SE1 reported that Lambeth’s planning committee had approved plans to redevelop and expand the Waterloo Hub Hotel, formerly the Days Hotel, on the corner of Kennington Road and Lambeth Road.

Speaking at the meeting as a ward councillor, Ibrahim welcomed the early and thorough consultation with residents. He noted that the hotel had sheltered rough sleepers during the Covid-19 lockdown.

He told the committee that he considered the height and scale of the new building appropriate, and that the extra visitor accommodation would boost the local economy.
