Writing for Rudaw, Gary Kent reported on the annual Newroz celebration held in the House of Commons by the Centre for Kurdish Progress, the campaigning group Ibrahim founded.
The report described a packed room of parliamentarians and members of Britain’s Kurdish community. It noted that the centre’s Newroz event and its regular speaker meetings in Parliament had become a popular fixture, and that awards were presented to people who had championed Kurdish causes.
The article also mentioned Ibrahim’s work with the British Kebab Awards and described him as someone tipped to become the first Kurdish Labour MP.
