I’ve just had a meeting with the project team behind proposals to extend the existing Novotel Waterloo hotel on Lambeth Road, near the police station and Lambeth Palace. The plans include adding three floors and additional hotel rooms, alongside refurbishment of the existing building.

Our discussion focused on what the project would mean for our neighbourhood. I raised questions about employment opportunities for local people, benefits to the local economy, and potential disruption for nearby residents.

The team assured me that they are planning measures to minimise construction noise and disruption, including managing deliveries and truck movements. I stressed the importance of protecting residents’ quality of life throughout any works.

They have already held a consultation and spoken with many local residents, but remain open to further feedback before submitting a planning application to Lambeth Council.

You can send questions or feedback directly to the project team at [email protected], or email me at [email protected] with any concerns or suggestions you would like me to raise.

I will continue to follow the proposals and keep residents informed.
