Labour’s Sagal Abdi-Wali wins Holborn and St Pancras by-election

Labour’s Sagal Abdi-Wali has been elected as the new Member of Parliament for Holborn and St Pancras following the by-election on Thursday 8 October 2026.

Sagal secured 12,292 votes, finishing ahead of Green Party candidate Zack Polanski with a majority of 3,364 and retaining the seat for Labour.

I warmly congratulate Sagal on her victory and wish her every success as she begins representing the constituency in Parliament. Thank you to the residents who supported her and to the Labour members and volunteers who worked hard throughout the campaign.

At its heart, politics is about serving our communities. I look forward to seeing Sagal champion the people of Holborn and St Pancras.
