Residents have raised concerns about construction noise at 72 Upper Ground, including work that may have taken place outside the approved hours.

I have raised the issue with Lambeth Council and asked what checks and enforcement action will follow. Planning officers say the approved construction plans set standard working hours of 8am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. Any changes require prior approval. They have referred the out-of-hours noise concerns to the council’s pollution team for investigation.

There are also limited exemptions for particular dates in August, rather than a general exemption. I have asked the council to clarify what it has found and how it will ensure the site follows the agreed rules. I’ll update residents when I receive a further response.
