Have your say on powers to tackle problems associated with street drinking

Lambeth Council is consulting on extending its borough-wide alcohol consumption Public Space Protection Order, with responses invited until Thursday 15 October 2026.

The order enables police and authorised council officers to require people to stop drinking and surrender alcohol where appropriate. The consultation seeks residents’ views on retaining these powers to address problems such as intimidation, littering and antisocial behaviour.

Residents who have experienced these issues locally are encouraged to contribute.
