Funding secured for parks

£72,698.87 in Section 106 money for parks in the ward.

After more than six months of asking, Lambeth Council has allocated Section 106 funding to parks and green spaces in Waterloo and South Bank. The sum confirmed is £72,698.87. The green spaces in the ward include Archbishop’s Park and Emma Cons Gardens, on The Cut.

The money is tied to the projects the council’s Finance Transformation Board has already approved. It is for maintaining and improving facilities that are already there, not for a new shopping list.

Getting the money agreed is the first step. I am now asking the Parks team for a published deadline for each project, so residents can see when the work starts and when it finishes.
