I would like to share an invitation from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust to a free online seminar on cardiogenic shock, open to all residents, families and carers.

Cardiogenic shock is a life-threatening emergency in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to meet the body’s needs. Recognising it early and getting urgent specialist treatment can make a significant difference.

The seminar will take place on Thursday 19 November 2026, from 5.30pm to 7pm, via Microsoft Teams.

Led by Professor Susanna Price, Consultant Cardiologist and Intensivist, alongside Clare Mellis and colleagues from the cardiogenic shock network, the session will explain:

  • What cardiogenic shock is and how to recognise it.
  • Why early treatment matters and what should happen in the first hour of care.
  • How specialist networks help patients access treatment.
  • Lessons from a patient case study.

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

To register and receive joining details, email [email protected]. You can also contact the Membership Office on 020 7188 7346.

View the seminar details on the NHS website.

Please share this invitation with friends, family and neighbours who may find it useful. Learning more about recognising a medical emergency could help save a life.
